Roof On, Bricks Started

Posted by on May 27, 2012

It has been a few days since my last update, as I have had a few very busy days at work.

On Wednesday I went past the block briefly on my way home from work. When I got there I found that they had completed wrapping the house and the scaffolding had been put in place for the roof to be installed. I also noticed that the side fence has almost been completed. Below are some pictures I took while I was there.

On Thursday I was told by a few people who went past the block that they were putting the roof on. unfortunately, I ended working till 11:30pm and was unable to drive past the block. Not long after I got to work on  Friday morning I received a call from the site supervisor. He was giving me a call just to touch base and give me an update on how things are going. He told me that the Roof had been completed the day before and that the brickies were starting on the front of the house today.

He also told me that the Electrician and Plumber would be in early next week to do the wiring and plumbing inside the house and that they should be started on the plaster by the end of the week. I forgot to ask when he expected handover to be as I keep getting people asking me when it will be.

I asked him about the floor waste in the laundry. I had noticed the pipe there for it when they did the plumbing for under the slab, but not since then. On Wednesday afternoon I noticed that it was under the wall between the laundry and the lounge room. He said he would have it fixed when the plumber was back.

I couldn’t wait to go past the block and see the roof. So at lunchtime I went past and had a quick look and took a few photos.

I went past the block on my way home on Friday afternoon. I didn’t take any photo because it was raining and quite dark. The brickies had not done much more than they had while I was there had lunchtime. To my surprise the electrician had been and run most of the electrical and television cables.

I went  to the block yesterday and took some more photos of the progress. I can’t believe how quick the house is going up.
