Final Inspection Done

Posted by on September 1, 2012

Well after a few weeks away, the house is nearly finished.

When I got back I found that most of the things that were left to be done had been done. The tiler had been and put silicon around the edges of all the tiles and showers. The plumber had been and connected the sewer to the street and the water from the front tap to the house. The Gas connection had also been done.

On Monday, I had the final inspection. There were a few things noted that needed to be fixed up. However, the site supervisor was already aware of most of these. The brick layer needed to come and fix a few bricks, plumber need to come and put the tap back at the meter and fix a tap in the bathroom that was leaking. These have been done since Monday.

The painter needs to come back and do a few touch ups and the tiler needs to come back and put the corking in the expansion joints.

I spoke to the site supervisor on Friday afternoon and he said the remainder of the things to be done would be done early in the week and he was planning for hand over to be next Thursday. So by this time next week I should have the keys to my new home.
