Fence Request from Neighbour

Posted by on December 9, 2011

Today, I received a request from on of my Neighbours to build a 1.8m Timber fence on one side of my block. Included with the request was a quote from a fencing contractor and a form to sign to say that I would pay for half the cost of the fence.

I had previously received a notice from the council stating that I must cut or slash the block as it is a fire hazard (Grass was about knee-high at the front of the block and waist-high towards the back. I had to have this done by the 11/12/2011.

This Afternoon I received a call from the real estate agent who I had brought the block from. They had received a call from my neighbour (The same one who had sent the fence request) asking if I would like him to slash my block for me, as he was there with a tractor slashing his block. I agreed to let him to cut my block.

I then headed around to the block with the signed form and handed it to him in person. He said that he did not want anything in return. However, I handed him a Six Pack of Crownies to say thanks for helping me out.

So I now have nice cut grass. I must remember to head over with a ride on mower and cut it regularly so that it does not get like a jungle again.

PS. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a photo before the block was slashed.
