Today, I had an onsite meeting with the Site Supervisor. Basically we just walked through the house and went through what was going to be done in the next few weeks.

He told me that the Painters are booked for next week. The tillers will be in the week after to do the wet areas and it will be another few weeks after that everything should be done. He has said to expect it to be another 6 – 8 weeks before I get handover.

Yesterday, the water was connected to the block. I was told it had been done when one of the guys at work said that he had supervised a tapping and he thought it was my place.

Earlier in the week the shelves in the pantry, built-in-robes and walk-in-robe were put in place.

This week saw the internal doors delivered and hung and the skirting boards started to be put into place. Now that the door between the garage and the main part of the house has been put into place I have been locked out. However, so far there has only been one night after work where I have not been able to find a door unlocked or a window slightly ajar.

This week the sheets of plaster for the walls has been put on. This was booked in to happen on Wednesday however they did not do this until thursday. The reason for the delay is that we had a lot of rain early in the week which caused some flooding and there was the worry on Wednesday that the side of town that my house is on may be cut off from the rest of the town. I have had a really busy week at work putting in a new phone system then training users on how to use it. So it has been almost a week since my last update.

I went past the block on Monday night. Not much had changed from the weekend. There were a few more bricks done but not much more. It was too dark by the time I got there to take any photos.

I was unable to go past on Tuesday after work as I didn’t finish work until close to midnight after swapping the old phone system out for the new system.

I went past the block on my way home from work. When I got there I found that the plumber had been and run all the pipes for the inside of the house ands installed the solar panels for the hot water system. More bricks had been done and they were nearly completed the brick work. I also found that they had put the plaster for the ceiling in place. Below are some photos that I took.

It has been a few days since my last update, as I have had a few very busy days at work.

On Wednesday I went past the block briefly on my way home from work. When I got there I found that they had completed wrapping the house and the scaffolding had been put in place for the roof to be installed. I also noticed that the side fence has almost been completed. Below are some pictures I took while I was there.

Today, I went past the block on the way home and found that they have put the windows in and the external doors. They have also put in the framework for the cavity sliding doors in the ensuite and walk in robe. They have also started the frame-work around the bath. Below are some picture I took while I was at the block.

Today, I went past the site on the way home from work and found that the bricks had been delivered and the roof trusses were up. They have also put in the posts for the alfresco. It is beginning to feel more like a house now that I have the frame-work for the roof.

The Fence on the right hand side of the block has also been started. This fence is going to be a colorbond fence that has been organised by the person who owns the two units next door.

Yesterday, I had a phone call from the site supervisor to let me know how things are going. He told me that the boys were there today and had stood the frames up. He also said that the roof trusses should be done early in the week as well as the windows put in place. He also to me that I will have a roof by the end of next week.

So I went past the block yesterday afternoon to see the frame. This is what I saw.

I went past the block last night and still no slab. However, the windows had been delivered.

I decided to go past the block on my way to work this morning to see if there was any action. As I went past i saw a few guys setting up what looked to be a concrete pump. When I got to the end of the street I passed a couple of concrete trucks coming around the roundabout. Read more »
